MISSION

To directly and positively impact the lives and future of the greater Sisters community.
We will be a manifestation of the kindness
and compassion exemplified by the generous spirit of Sisters. 

AREAS OF

GIVING

Community Fund:  Respond to the long-term needs and issues in Sisters Country.

  • Community Relief: Child-care assistance for low-income families, rental assistance, utility assistance, medical assistance and assistance to veterans and military services and programs.
  • Emergency Relief: Pandemic related relief, and other emergency relief as needed.

Education: We believe our youth are our assets. The Sisters Community Foundation will work with our community partners to fund programs through grants for scholarships and other youth development programs in schools.

Arts and Culture: Sisters has a strong arts and culture community with a vision to unify and expand the sector. We will collaborate with our community partners and engage in community efforts to support this sector that is so vital to the Sisters area.

Judy Trego

Judy Trego is the Co-Founder and President of the Sisters Community Foundation. She has served Central Oregon in many roles over the years. She currently is the Deschutes County Commissioner appointed representative for the Deschutes County budget committee overseeing and advising a half a billion dollar budget.

Martin Cannon

Martin Cannon

Martin Cannon is a Co-Founder of the Sister Community Foundation.  He is a former partner with The RREEF Funds in San Francisco where he served for almost two decades as a Real Estate Investment Advisor  sourcing, acquiring, managing and selling commercial real estate properties for major corporate, public and private pension funds.

Kathy Gillan

Kathy Gillan

Kathy Gillan was raised and worked her entire life in Sisters Oregon. Early in life and as a single mother Kathy knows what it is like to struggle to survive with two small children. Kathy worked in retail in Sisters for 30 years and transition to a career in banking and then to a career working in community relations for the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce and now serves as their events director.

Jeanette Pilak

Jeanette Pilak is a retired executive of 40 years for international, national, local non-profits. Jeanette has served in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and was the first Festival Director for the John F Kennedy Center.

Nick Beasley

Nick Beasley was born with an entrepreneurial spirit and has channeled that spirit into volunteering in his community. He serves as the Board President for Black Butte Ranch and is a Corporate sales manager at gearUp, an exclusive Nike Teams and Carhartt Company Gear dealer.

Turi Shergold

Turi

Turi has been a resident of Sisters for 17 years. She came to Central Oregon in 1999, continuing her career in real estate working for Smith Properties when Bill Smith was transforming the old mill into the Old Mill District in Bend. She then got her second degree in accounting and now has expertise in website design, marketing and accounting.
